Tea is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world. The aromatic flavour and presence of caffeine gives it refreshing quality which the drinker experiences. Though not addictive or habit forming tea is drunk in most of the Asian countries and some European countries on a daily basis several times a day. Derived from a plant called Camellia Sinensis, the leaves of this plant is dried and cured to make it consumable. The plant originated in China since ancient times and in 19th century British introduced tea plants in India. Since then India has become a major producer of tea, growing it in various parts of the country as the tropical climate in India is suitable for its growth. The state of Assam is the largest tea producing state in India.
